Pretty in Pink

I wanted to share a little bauble I made over the weekend. This picture is from my ig acct. I created a "barb wire" ring with rose gold coloring.

Rite of Spring Pt 2

Previously I shared the women's spring colors. In part 2, I'll be sharing the men's spring color trends.

The first color selected is Lavender Herb. This is one of my favorites for the men and I sincerely  hope that many men adopt this color.  One of the things that I love about this shade is that regardless of personal style, this shade of lavender works for everything from preppy  to Neo Victorian.

Pantone's color of the year makes an a pear ancestors in the color trends for the men as well.  I can see some lovely dress shirts or ties in this shade.

Titanium should be big for the  gentleman this spring.  It makes a great alternative  to black for those warmer days (pretty much every day if you live in Texas)

Sandstone is next on the list. While Pantone may like this shade,  it is one I struggle to get behind.  The yellow/orange undertones makes this a color that I find harsh for many complexions.

Woodbine is a mossy shade of green.  It reminds me of trees in East Texas where I spent my adolescent years. This is another  color that won't work with every complexion, so try this one on...don't  buy unless you LOVE it.

Toasted Almond...sounds more like something I would order for my ice cream sundae than a shade of clothing, but it is a lovely neutral. I can foresee many  khaki pants in this shade for spring.

Classic Blue. The name says it all.  This is a shade that looks good on practically everyone, so buy,buy, buy.

Treetop reminds me of a forest and makes me long for a cabin getaway. I love this shade of green and can't wait to see it on all those beautiful hazel the guys out there.

Glacier Grey,  another great sprint neutral.  Buy pants, suits, pretty much anything you like in this shade.

Dusk Blue is another classic shade of blue that looks great on just about everyone. Many shirts will be found in this shade or with this shade as an accent.

Rite of Spring - Pt 1

The weather has warmed up a bit and the sun is shining brightly.  Based on this wonderful little development, I thought it would be a great opportunity to introduce you to Pantone's colors for spring.  You can expect to see this colors showing up in the stores shortly.

First up is a color I have discussed in a previous post (Red Red Wine).  Pantone's color of the year Marsala.  A wonderful brownish red that compliments almost every complexion, be sure to pick up some pieces in this color to be on trend this spring.

Next up is Glacier Gray.  I'm excited about this one because I adore gray.  This color seems to be prominent in the men's collections, but I feel it's a wonderful neutral and alternative to black for spring.

Custard is next on the list for spring colors.  This is a color that I feel is particularly difficult to pull off, so perhaps try it in your accessories instead of your basics.

Tangerine is another color for spring that I feel is difficult to pull off.  All of you beautiful tanned ladies with warm undertones can totally jump on this color's bandwagon though.  For us fairer complected ladies, again I vote accessories.

The next color is Strawberry Ice, Pantone has their suggested pairings, but I would like to suggest pairing with Marsala for a twist on monochromatic dressing.

Next in line is Toasted Almond.  This is another color that is a great neutral.  I'm not particularly fond of brown tones, but I can see this looking lovely paired with some of the other colors listed in this post.

Classic Blue is another color that I am excited about.  This is one of those colors that just seems to look great on everyone and really makes an outfit pop.  If you don't already have something in this shade in your closet, I highly recommend buying a piece or two (or more).

Lucite Green is a beautiful way to bring some spring greenery to your wardrobe.  It's an airy color that works well with most complexions thanks to that hint of blue in it.

Scuba Blue is a quintessential spring color.  It reminds me of the beach and makes me long for a vacation complete with tropical drinks (and maybe a cute cabana boy or two....I know I'm greedy).

Aquamarine is another of those colors that suits just about everyone.  I would suggest using this color in measured doses unless you want to look like you're trying to channel your inner Elsa.

I hope I have inspired you to think about what you might want to start adding to your wardrobe for spring.  Just remember that unless you love the way you look in a color, don't invest too heavily in it.  Accessories, camisoles, etc are inexpensive ways to update your wardrobe with the spring trends without breaking the bank.

Lunatic Fringe

After feeling ill this last week, I think I've finally found a little balance.  So without further delay, let's get this baby started.

I know spring is right around the corner and that I should really be showing off what you should be buying next, but I couldn't help but show some more of the items I found in the Fall/Winter collection.  I have always had a fascination with the flapper dresses of the 20s.  There is just something about the freedom and liberation that those designs held for the women of that era.  I wanted to show you guys a few modern takes on those classic looks.

The following from the Diesel Black Gold collection just sparkles.  It might just be me, but I think of a black disco ball.  Can we say club dress?

The following from Roberto Cavalli just sings to e.  I want this skirt so much, perhaps a diy on the horizon.  Paired with an almost military inspired jacket.  I could see sporting this in the office and then out for drinks.

The next design from Roberto Cavalli seems to have the large fringe cuts with a print which I feel gives a very modern feel to the look.  Pair it with the red fir and it's just on fire.

 This last look from the Salvatore Ferragamo collection is one of those looks that really works on a runway (or the long corridor at work).  The flow and movement of the fringe and the nearly sheer layer underneath would make any woman want to turn on that strut.  I also agree that it looks amazing paired with knee boots.

Red Red Wine

Happy New Year Friends!  I thought I would dedicate the first post of the year to Pantone's color of the year: Marsala.

Marsala is a beautiful rich warm color much like the wine it is named for. A beautiful red with brown undertones, this color should flatter just about all skin tones.

There are many ways to incorporate Marsala into your wardrobe and you may find many foundation pieces in this color as the spring fashions start arriving in the stores.

For those who know me, you know that I love boots and leather jackets.  In honor of my fashion faves, I have found some lovely examples that I would like to share that you could use to incorporate this color into your wardrobe for a slightly more sophisticated touch to that edgy vibe.

The boots below would be perfect with your skinnies or even a dress.  I love the little studded detail alongside the back zipper.

Here is a moto jacket that you could get.  A little sophisticated coloring to your tough girl wardrobe.

Another cute little jacket, although this one has an even friendlier price tag. Watch out for the boxy cut on this one, it may hit some people in a wider part of the anatomy cutting off your torso.
