Still Swinging Pt1

The Swinging Sixties and Sophisticated Punk don't seem like a cohesive mix, however the fashion industry can surprise you sometimes.  I actually found several styles of the mod trend that I could actually contemplate wearing, presuming I had the figure, which I do not.  These particular styles and shapes look better on a more svelte frame, not my curvy one.  My goal with the blog is to show people how they can encorporate the trends into their own style.

This dress from the Gucci Fall 2014 collection has just the right amount of hardware and leather detail not to mention the snakeskin print of the boots.  This is a wonderful little dress for the office.

Tom Ford has gone wild with this print.  The "it" color of the season makes this outfit a show stopper.  Everyone will stop to take notice of this outfit.

Dsquared2 also jumped on the snakeskin bandwagon.  This mini dress in the electric blue color has the right amount of swing for those leggie girls.  For those of us with less that perfect legs or who are a bit more modest might pair with leggings and boots.

For the green number, I recommend this outfit only for the bravest of soles willing to work those legs for all they're worth.  Not to worry the print is universal, so for anyone else, I would recommend the print in a top, jacket or pencil skirt.

Roland Mouret has provided a wonderfully modern take on the geometric looks prevelent in the 60s. This dressed paired with the leather leggings is a sophisticated look that is completely wearable.

J. Mendel's Fall 2014 collection has the two outfits below that create a beautiful 60's silhouette but with a modern twist in the print.  I found both dresses to be visually appealing and could see them paired with some edgy hardware style jewelry for that rock chick vibe.
